Does a clinic that doesn't do any electronic billing at all - need to file for an extension??
All of their billing goes out on paper directly to the insurance company.

I have a question about the status of inmate privacy, as outlined in HIPPA's privacy rules.
Please help to clarify the standard: Does it mean that an inmate does not have the same priviledge of confidentiality and privacy regarding his or her medical information?

I was hoping someone can help me figure this one out. Say you're billing for DME for a medical supply store... The people who are at the store are not coders, although they have to choose codes for the supplies. If they want to outsource to a billing company can the service choose the codes for the supplies. Would the best bet to have the store give you a list of codes that they are using for each supply? Or do they have to note the code on each claim they give you for submission? Who's...

Can anyone tell me where to find the regulation for the state of NY on it being illegal to charge a percentage of collections to your clients?

I was told to go to the NY State Dept of Education, but cannot locate this information within that site.

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could fill in some blanks for me with regard to coding responsibilities. It is my understanding that the provider is responsible to provide all codes, if this is so, then under what circumstances would the biller need to provide codes? I worked in a billing department for a hospital and it was my responsibility to code all of the ER sheets for the Blue Cross/Blue Shield patients who were seen in the ER. The doctor never coded a thing.
